Anisul, Qamrul, 20 others appear virtually from jail in different uprising cases

DHAKA, Sept 03, 2025 (BSS) - Twenty-two accused, including former law minister Anisul Huq and former food minister Qamrul Islam, today appeared virtually from jail before a Dhaka court in connection with different cases filed over heinous crimes committed during the July Mass Uprising.
 
The other accused who appeared virtually are: Salman F Rahman, Hasanul Haque Inu, Kamal Ahmed Majumder, Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Dr Dipu Moni, Shamsul Haque Tuku, Rear Admiral (Retd) Mohammad Sohail, Ahammed Hossain, Solaiman Salim, Justice AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik, Abu Reza Mohammad Nezam Uddin Naqvi, Nuruzzaman Ahmed, Momtaz Begum, Masuda Siddiqa Rosy, Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun, Shahidul Haque, Tanjil Ahmed, Abul Hasan, Jahangir Alam and Major General (sacked) Ziaul Ahsan.
 
They joined the proceedings virtually before the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Arifur Rahman from Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) prosecution wing ADC Mayeen Uddin Chowdhury told BSS.
