Army conducts drive at KNA training camp in Bandarban

DHAKA, Sept 3, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Army conducted a month-long special military operation from July 25 to August 26 in the remote Reng Tlang area of Ruma upazila in Bandarban district.

During the operation, army patrol team uncovered a training camp of the Kuki National Army (KNA), also known as the "Bom Party," a banned ethno-nationalist armed group, in the uninhabited border region, according to a release from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) today.

The team seized a variety of weapons and training equipment, including wooden rifle, sniper weapon components, military belts, cartridge belts, pouches, uniforms, boots, blankets, walkie-talkie chargers, solar panels and other logistics items used for training purposes.

The army also secured the training ground, firing range, trenches and other strategic installations, the release added.

Bangladesh Army reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety of communities and resources in the Chittagong Hill Tracts and stated that strict operations against illegal armed groups will continue in the future.
