DHAKA, Sept 3, 2025 (BSS) - Police arrested 15 leaders and activists of the Awami League (AL) and its associate bodies from different parts of the capital city in the last 24 hours.   
 
The arrestees have been identified as joint convener of Aminpur Thana Jubo League in Pabna district, Md. Sajibul Haque Rana (38), joint general secretary of Jatrabari Thana Chhatra League, Miraj Hossain Shaon (27), joint general secretary of Ward No. 22 of Hazaribag Thana AL, Md. Siraj Uddin Rubel (45), executive member of the Central Committee of Jubo League Md. Arif Hossain (46) , former information and research secretary of Tejgaon Shilpanchal Thana Awami League Md. Kazi Abu Daud Lalon (59) , former deputy secretary of Library Affairs of the Chhatra League Central Committee, Md. Mokhlesur Rahman Mukul (31), president of Shahbagh Thana Jubo League Md. Mostafa (55), member of the AL agriculture and cooperatives central sub-committee Md. Nasirul Kabir Kayem (35), vice-president of Motijheel Thana Chhatra League Shaon Kumar Das (28), organizing secretary of Singair Upazila Awami League of Manikganj District Shawkat Hossain (42), organizing secretary of Ward No. 10 Chhatra League of Dhaka South City Corporation, Md. Abdur Rouf Sohel (24), publicity secretary of Dhaka University Chhatra League Md. Mahfuz Hossain (27), member of Dhaka Metropolitan North AL, Md. Zahurul Islam (48), vice-president of Chhatra League Central Committee Md. Raihan Roni (30), Rajshahi District Awami League member and former Rajshahi University Chhatra League General Secretary SM Touhid Al Hossain alias Tuhin (36).
 
Deputy Commissioner of Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan of Police (DMP) Muhammad Talebur Rahman confirmed the arrests. 
 
Separate teams of the DB arrested the AL men in separate raids at Abdullahpur, Jatrabari, Lalbagh, Demra, Namapara, Shyampur, AGB Colony area under Motijheel Police Station, Paltan, Lalbagh and Dabar areas on Tuesday.
