Tarique Rahman provides medical assistance to child Ratul

DHAKA, Sept 03, 2025 (BSS) - Six-year-old Tanvirul Islam Ratul, son of a helpless rickshaw puller of Barhatta upazila of Netrakona district had been suffering from heart diseases since his birth. 

His childhood was filled with endless suffering.

Ratul was admitted to the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) in the capital on June 30 as per the instructions of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman. 

Head of the Department of Paediatric Cardiac Surgery Associate Professor Dr Md Zahidul Islam and Associate Professor of the Department of Thoracic Surgery Dr Kazi Saiful Islam Shakil successfully completed the surgery of Ratul .

The entire medical process was monitored round the clock by Dr. ANM Monowarul Quadir Bitu, former Joint Secretary General of Doctors Association of Bangladesh (DAB) and Assistant Professor of Cardiology Department of Bangladesh Medical University. ‘Amra BNP Paribar’ provided support in the entire medical process.

‘Amra BNP Paribar’ convener Atiqur Rahman Rumon, member secretary Krishibid Mokchedul Momin Mithun, BNP's Central Committee's co-religious affairs secretary ATM Abdul Bari Danny, member of the National Press Club's management committee Zahidul Islam Rony, assistant professor of the Cardiology Department of the National Heart Institute Dr. Md. Sarwar Hossain, assistant registrar Dr. Md. Samiur Rahman, assistant registrar of the Cardiothoracic Surgery Department Dr. Hujjatul Rana, and other doctors today met Ratul and his family members. 

According to the medical team, Ratul is now found physically sound and he will be able to return home in the next two to three days.

The leaders conveyed BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman's heartfelt greetings to Ratul's family and assured them of round-the-clock support for any medical needs in future.
