DHAKA, Sept 4, 2025 (BSS) – Dhaka University (DU) authorities today stated that strict action will be taken against cyber bullying and defamatory campaigns during the ongoing electioneering for the upcoming Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) and hall union elections scheduled for September 9.

A DU press release signed by Farrukh Ahmed, deputy director of the Public Relations Office, said incidents of cyber bullying and attempts to malign candidates based on their past activities have been reported.

In particular, female candidates are being subjected to cyber bullying in various forms, which is a clear violation of human rights, it added.

If such allegations are proven, stern action will be taken through the DUCSU Code of Conduct Task Force and the Cyber Control Cell formed by the returning officers, the release further said.

The returning officers have categorically stated that no concession will be made regarding cyber bullying or propaganda centering the DUCSU and hall union elections.
