ACC files case against ex-MP Didar and his wife

DHAKA, Sept 04, 2025 (BSS)- Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against former lawmaker of Chattogram-4 constituency Didarul Alam and his wife Ismat Ara Begum on the allegation of misuse of power, misconduct and acquiring wealth beyond their known income sources.

ACC Director General (Prevention) Akhter Hossain told the journalists that Didarul Alam has acquired and possessed illegal assets and properties worth about Taka 13.82 crore by misusing his power and through criminal misconduct. Didar in his 20 bank accounts deposited Taka 475.98 crore and drew Taka 472.90 crore. He concealed information about the source of income of transacted amount of Taka Taka 948.88 crore.

His wife Ismat Ara Begum, with the help of her husband acquired and possessed illegal wealth worth about Taka 1.47 crore through misuse of power.
