DHAKA, Sep 4, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) standing committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy today said various conspiracies are underway to foil the upcoming national parliamentary election.

"Conspiracies are underway to foil the upcoming national parliamentary election. Everyone must remain vigilant. The more the election is delayed, the more the conspiracies by autocrat Hasina will increase. Therefore, there is no alternative to holding election soon to establish the rights of the people," he said, speaking as the chief guest at a rally in Keraniganj upazila of the city.

South Keraniganj BNP organized the rally marking the party's 47th founding anniversary.

Dhaka District BNP General Secretary Advocate Nipun Roy Chowdhury presided over the event while South Keraniganj BNP General Secretary Mojadded Ali Babu moderated it.

Mentioning that religion is being used in politics, Gayeshwar said, "Religion is being used in the name of politics to mislead the people. This is a moral and political crime...It is the responsibility of politics to ensure an environment where people of all faiths can live with respect."

South Keraniganj BNP Joint General Secretary Sirajul Islam, South Keraniganj Juba Dal Senior Joint Convener Advocate Shaheen Rahman and Dhaka District Chatra Dal President Pavel Molla, among others, joined the rally.
