DMP seeks to clues to trace Ankhi Akhter's family

DHAKA, Sept 4, 2025 (BSS) – Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s (DMP) victim support centre today sought clues for the family members of a rescued teenage girl having mental  instability.

According to a DMP statement people in the neighbourhood last found night 18-year-old l Ankhi Akhter at Kafrul area and handed her to Kafrul police station custody.

It said the girl is fair-skinned and about 5 feet tall and at the time of her rescue she was wearing a black shirt and trousers.

She could not tell police her address because of her apparent mentally instability, prompting them to hand her over their Victim Support Centre.

The statement said Ankhi Akhter, however, is in safe shelter of the centre located at Tejgaon Police Station Complex while police filed a general diary about the rescue.

DMP’s victim support centre requested all acquainted to her to contact the duty officer at the support centre on mobile number 01320-042055 or TNT number 02-41024848.
