DHAKA, Sept 4, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Health Affairs Secretary Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam said that a special party is involved in a conspiracy to disrupt democratic practices in the country.
 
He said these while speaking as the special guest at a discussion on the July Uprising 2024 organized by the Bangladesh Janadhikar Party at the Jatiya Press Club here.
 
"We got involved from the beginning of the student movement at the directive of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman. After a meeting with all like-minded parties, the party's Acting Chairman decided on the strategy for our involvement in the July movement," he said.
 
To permanently eliminate fascism in this country, the electoral roadmap given by the interim government and the Election Commission must be implemented, he said.
 
BNP Standing Committee Member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, BNP Vice Chairman Barkat Ullah Bulu, BNP Assistant Health Affairs Secretary Professor Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam and Dr. Shakhwat Hossain Sayanto, were present, among others.
