DHAKA, Sept 4, 2025 (BSS) - European Union (EU) Ambassador to Bangladesh Michael Miller today paid a courtesy call on Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman at his office in Bashundhara.
The ambassador was accompanied by Deputy Head of Delegation Baiba Zarina.
During the courtesy call and exchange of views, they discussed various issues of mutual interest of Bangladesh and the European Union.
The issue of making democracy meaningful in Bangladesh also figured highly.
They expressed hope that the mutual relations, development and progress between the two will continue in future.
The ambassador also enquired about the health of the Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer.
Discussions were also held regarding the meeting of a high-level EU delegation with Jamaat-e-Islami in mid-September.
Nayeb-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former MP, Dr. Syed Abdullah Md. Taher and the Ameer-e-Jamaat's Foreign Affairs Advisor Professor Dr. Mahmudul Hasan were also present on the occasion.
