DHAKA, Sept 5, 2025 (BSS) – BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death of Alhaj Maqbul Ahmed Chowdhury, father of Hasan Ahmed Chowdhury Kiron, who is the Director of News at ATN Bangla and Chairman of Debate for Democracy.
In a condolence message, the Secretary General said, “I express my deep sorrow and sympathy to the family of Alhaj Maqbul Ahmed Chowdhury at his death. He was respected by his close ones as a religious and benevolent person. He was a man of honesty and integrity."
“May the Almighty grant him Jannah and give his grieving family the strength to bear this loss.”
The Secretary General also prayed for the salvation of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family members.
Alhaj Maqbul Ahmed Chowdhury passed away on Monday (September 1) at the age of 85 due to a heart attack at United Hospital in Dhaka.
His Qulkhwani will be held at his Mohammadpur residence in the city after Zohr prayers on Saturday (September 6).
