BOGURA, Sept 5, 2025 (BSS) – BNP senior joint secretary general Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi today said Awami League itself has proved that it is pro-Indian.

“Hasina said we (BNP) are pro-Pakistani party . . . but we are pro-Bangladeshi party. We did not flee the country despite enforced disappearances, killing, attack and cases filed against us while the absconding Awami League proved that they are pro-Indian party”, he said.

He made the comments while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion marking the 47th founding anniversary of BNP here this afternoon.

“Actually Awami League was born in the laboratory of the Indian intelligence agency,” he added. 

Regarding the student people protest in July, he said BNP leader Tarique Rahman had a main contribution to the movement as he (Tarique Rahman) made the whole nation united through the technology and as a result the autocratic Hasina was ousted.

Talking about the DUCSU election, Rizvi accused that GS candidate of the Chhatra Shibir panel was a leader of Chhattra League. The VP candidate also was related with the Chhattra League according to  Fahmida who was victim bullying and various threat due to this, he added. 

These were once involved in Chhattra League’s politics and committed attacks on the democratic movement and now they have become the leader of Chhatra Shibir, he said.

Adviser to the BNP chairperson Advocate AKM Mahbubur Rahman and HelaluzzamanTalukder Lalu spoke as the special guests while district BNP president Rezaul Karim Badsha presided over the function.
