BGB seizes Indian mobile displays worth Tk 5cr at Cumilla border

DHAKA, Sept 5, 2025 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized a mini covered van with illegal Indian mobile displays worth Tk 5 crore in a special operation in Cuttack Bazar area of Cumilla Sadar Upazila.

The patrol team of Cuttack Bazar Post of Bibirbazar BOP under the Cumilla Battalion (10 BGB) conducted the special anti-smuggling operation in the Palpara area of Cumilla Sadar Upazila in the early hours of Thursday, said a press release.

In the operation, the BGB patrol team seized 13,527 pieces of Indian mobile phone displays in an abandoned condition.

The estimated value of the seized goods is Tk 4,99,35,000.

The items have been deposited to the customs as per the rules.
