DHAKA, Sept 6, 2025 (BSS)- Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) standing committee member Mirza Abbas today visited Gono Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

After the visit, Abbas stressed the need for Nur to be sent abroad for better treatment. "Nur's nose is still bleeding. He should be sent abroad for advanced medical care. We hope he recovers soon," he said.

The BNP leader alleged that the attack on Nur was deliberate. "This was not a simple brawl. It was a brutal and inhuman assault," he said.

Abbas called for an investigation to determine if there was any plot behind the attack. "We must find out who attacked him, why and what their motive was," he added. He also said the government should identify the source of such incidents.

In reply to a question about the desecration of a shrine in Rajbari on Friday, Abbas said such incidents are not isolated. "You will see many more incidents like this as the election nears. One group wants to stop the election," he alleged.
