DMP files 2,567 cases for violating traffic rules

DHAKA, Sept 8, 2025 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 2,567 cases against motor vehicles, its owners and drivers for violating traffic rules in a single day across the capital.

A media release of the DMP today said that they filed those cases and realized the money on Sunday (September 7) through their regular drives against the traffic rule breakers.

A total of 320 motor vehicles were dumped and 135 vehicles were towed due to poor driving practices, said Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner (Media and Public Relations Division) of the DMP.

"The drives will continue to ensure discipline on the city streets," the release said, adding that the DMP has been working to bring the traffic 
system under smooth in the capital for giving city dwellers easy movement.
