PWD Sub-Asstt Eng Ahsanul given ‘forced retirement’ for corruption allegations

DHAKA, Sept 8, 2025(BSS) - The Ministry of Public Works and Housing has given former Sub-Assistant Engineer of Rajshahi PWD Circle Khandkar Md Ahsanul Haque ‘forced retirement’ for corruption allegations.

The ministry in a press release here today said that he (Ahsanul) has been given ‘forced retirement’ from the service for his “involvement” in excessive expenses of government money in Ruppur Green City Project.

Khandkar Ahsanul Haque was found guilty through two separate investigation committees constituted by the Public Works Directorate and the ministry as well. His ‘gross misconduct’ was also undoubtedly proved by a departmental probe body, it said.

He (Ahsanul) has given ‘forced retirement’ in accordance with the advices of the Public Service Commission (PSC) as he was directly involved in preparing excessive expenses for the project that was negligence to duty under Sub-Rules (Kha) under Rules-3 of the Government Employees (Discipline and Appeal) Rules-2018 .

Secretary to the ministry of Public Works and Housing Md Nazrul Islam following an instruction from the President yesterday signed the file for giving him major punishment in this regard.
