JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, Sept 13, 2025 (BSS) - The Jahangirnagar University (JU) authorities have announced all academic classes and administrative offices will remain closed on September 14 due to the mental and physical exhaustion experienced by teachers, students, and staff following the ongoing JU Central Students' Union (JUCSU) elections.

A notification signed by JU Registrar ABM Azizur Rahman said the decision was made in recognition of the relentless efforts put in by members of the university community during the election process including preparations, voting, and vote counting from September 10 to 13.

However, to ensure the smooth continuation of the undergraduate (honours) first-year admission process for the 2024-25 academic session, all offices related to admission will remain open on September 14 as scheduled. Teachers, officers, and staff involved in the admission process have been instructed to be present at their respective duties.

Normal academic and administrative activities will resume on September 15. However, all scheduled final examinations will remain suspended until further notice.
