Ex-DIG Nahidul arrested in ICT case

DHAKA, Sept 13, 2025 (BSS) - Police have arrested former deputy inspector general (DIG) AKM Nahidul Islam from the capital's Eskaton area early today.

Nahidul who was sent to retirement on August 28 last was arrested from his residence at Eskaton under Ramna Police Station following a requisition from the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT).

Chief of the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Shafiqul Islam confirmed the arrest.

Nahidul is an accused in a case filed with the ICT and has been handed over to the tribunal.
