DHAKA, Sept 14, 2025 (BSS) - Leaders of Jatiotabadi Samajik Sangskritik Sangstha (JASAS), a social and cultural organization of BNP, today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of eminent folk singer Farida Parveen.
In a condolence message here today, convener of JASAS Helal Khan and member secretary Zakir Hossain Rokon said Farida Parveen will remain immortal among people through her legendary songs.
She received the Ekushey Padak and several local and international awards for her folk songs, especially Lalon Geeti. Farida Parveen also established Lalon Sangeet Institute (music school), the message said.
JASAS leaders prayed for the eternal peace of Farida Parveen's departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to her bereaved family members, relatives, followers, and well-wishers.
Earlier, Farida Parveen breathed her last at a city hospital last night at the age of 71.
