First meeting of DUCSU held today

DHAKA, Sept 14, 2025 (BSS) - The first executive meeting of the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) was held today at the conference room adjacent to the vice-chancellor's office.

Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Niaz Ahmad Khan presided over the meeting, while Pro-VC and acting treasurer Prof Dr Sayma Haque Bidisha, newly elected DUCSU Vice President Shadik Kayem, General Secretary S M Farhad, Assistant General Secretary Mohiuddin Khan, and all executive committee members attended.

According to a DU press release, VC Prof Dr Niaz Ahmad Khan congratulated all DUCSU leaders for winning the participatory elections. He called upon them to work for the wellbeing of students as their representatives, the release said.

During the meeting, a decision was made to formally propose the nomination of five student representatives of DUCSU to the Senate under Article 20 (1)(M) of the DU Ordinance, 1973, it added.

The meeting also discussed the appointment of the DUCSU treasurer, the release said.
