DHAKA, Sept 14, 2025 (BSS) – A 23-year-old woman, Mokseda Akhter Priya, today gave birth to six babies at the Gynecology Ward of Dhaka Medical College (DMC).

Mokseda delivered the babies in Ward No. 212 at around 9 am. Of them, three are boys and three are girls.

Two newborns have been kept at the DMC NICU, while three others were taken to Nilkhet Homecare due to space constraints.

One male newborn died around 6 pm today while the condition of another remains critical, an on-duty doctor at DMC said.

Mokseda was admitted to the hospital around midnight on Sunday.

Nur Mohammad, the newborns’ uncle who brought her to DMC, said they took Mokseda to the Gynecology Department of Ward No. 212 after she fell sick at her home in Siddhirganj of Narayanganj district.

Mokseda hails from Khajuria village under Senbagh Police Station in Noakhali district. Her husband Mohammad Hanif is a Qatar expatriate, he added.

Mokseda is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital, said Mohammad Faruk, in-charge of the DMCH Police Camp.
