LAKSHMIPUR, Sept 15, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Chairperson's Adviser, also former MP Abul Khair Bhuiyan today said ousted autocrat Sheikh Hasina and her accomplices are trying to destabilize the country, hence they are the enemies of democracy.

"Those who are disrupting order must be brought to justice. The people of Bangladesh have sacrificed their lives, shed their blood, and fought in movements for a free and fair election in this country," Abul Khair said at a rally in the Karatirhat area of Lakshmipur sadar upazila this afternoon.

The BNP leader urged for an environment conducive to the national election.

"No more excuses regarding the elections will be tolerated," he warned.

"Deep plots and conspiracies are being hatched against Bangladesh. We must remain united, like we were in the Liberation War, the independence movement, the anti-autocracy movement of '90 and the July Uprising to overcome all conspiracies. We cannot be hypocritical with the blood of the martyrs. BNP will not compromise with anyone to ensure the voting rights of the people, just as it didn't in the past," he added.

Former convener of Lakshmipur sadar upazila (west) BNP Abdul Karim Bhuiyan Mizan, president Mahbubur Rahman Khokon, general secretary Mohiuddin Patwary Bitu, BNP leaders Rabbi Elahi Zahir, Saidur Rahman Bhuttu, Jamal Hossain, District Juba Dal general secretary Syed Rashidul Hasan Linkon, and Juba Dal leader Amir Ahmed Raju, among others, participated in the rally.
