21 held during special drive in Mohammadpur, Adabor

DHAKA, Sept 16, 2025 (BSS) – Police arrested 21 alleged criminals on various charges during drives in the Mohammadpur and Adabor areas of the capital.

According to police, the arrestees were picked up yesterday from different locations under Mohammadpur and Adabor Police Stations.

“We have been conducting various operations to curb criminal activities in Mohammadpur area and arrested 10 persons involved in different crimes,” Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mohammadpur Police Station Kazi Md Rafiq Ahmed told BSS today.

The detainees are Rakib, 21; Zakir, 28; Aklima, 28; Raju, 30; Imon, 21; Palash, 25; Ratan, 21; Rakib, 22; Al Amin, 22; and Shafiqul, 36.

During the raid, police also recovered marijuana and samurai knives from their possession.

The OC said the special operation will continue to make Mohammadpur a crime-free area.

In addition, police arrested 11 alleged criminals on various charges during another special anti-crime drive in Adabor area.

The arrestees are Md Sagor, 28; Md Akash, 30; Md Al Amin, 20; Abu Bakar Mohon, 50; Md Abdul Latif, 55; Md Asadul Islam, 35; Md Atiqul Islam, 27; Md Shahdat Hossain, 35; Md Saddam Hossain, 30; Md Masud Munshi, 40; and Ranju Mia, 45.

Police said the arrestees comprised persons with ongoing cases, those wanted under outstanding warrants, and others accused of different crimes.

They were produced before the court today.
