Anisul, Amu, Razzaque, Inu, Menon shown arrested in fresh July Uprising cases

DHAKA, Sept 17, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today ordered to show eight political figures of the fallen fascist Awami League including several former ministers arrested in connection with three separate cases of murder and attempted murder related to the 2024 July Uprising.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ariful Islam passed the order after the accused were produced before the court along with separate petitions seeking to show them arrested in cases filed with Jatrabari and Bhatara Police Stations.

The accused include former ministers Anisul Haque, Amir Hossain Amu, Mohammad Abdur Razzaque, Rashed Khan Menon, and Hasanul Haq Inu. The other accused are former MPs Barrister Syed Sayedul Haque Suman and Kazi Monirul Islam Monu, as well as Nazrul Islam Majumder, chairman of NASA Group.

According to court proceedings, Anisul, Amu, Razzaque, Inu, Menon, and Barrister Suman were shown arrested in the Riaz Murder Case, filed with Jatrabari Police Station. Kazi Monirul Islam Monu was shown arrested in the Zubaid Murder Case, also filed with Jatrabari Police Station. Meanwhile, Nazrul Islam Majumder was shown arrested in the attempted murder of Naim Hossain Niloy, a case filed with Bhatara Police Station.

Following the hearing, the court ordered all eight accused to be sent to jail.
