Parveen Mahmud receives SAFA lifetime woman leadership award

DHAKA, Sept 17, 2025 (BSS) - Parveen Mahmud from Bangladesh received the 'Lifetime Woman Leadership Award 2025' at the SAFA Women Leadership Award Ceremony on Tuesday at Hotel Cinnamon Life, City of Dreams, Sri Lanka.

She is the Chairperson of Manusher Jonnyo Foundation (MJF), MIDAS, HerStory Foundation and Shasha Denims PLC. She was the Chairperson, UCEP-Bangladesh and Acid Survivor's Foundation.

Parveen Mahmud is the first woman President to lead the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) and first female board member and the first female President to serve SAFA Board among professional bodies of the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA), apex accounting professional body of SAARC.

Parveen Mahmud started her career with BRAC, and thereafter, served PKSF as Deputy Managing Director and was the Founding Managing Director of Grameen Telecom Trust. She was Partner, ACNABIN, chartered accountants. She has served on numerous boards including BRAC International, PKSF, TIB , Grameen Telecom and pioneered inclusive growth, women's empowerment, and social innovation across South Asia. 

The SAFA Leadership Award ceremony was held concurrently with the Inauguration Ceremony of the CMA Sri Lanka Silver Jubilee International Management Accounting Conference 2025, in the presence of SAFA Board Members and other distinguished dignitaries. This prestigious recognition is a testament to her outstanding contributions and lasting impact to inspire women leaders across Bangladesh and beyond.
