No security threats around Durga Puja celebrations: DMP Commissioner

DHAKA, Sept 30, 2025 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali said there are no security threats around celebrations of the Sharadiya Durga Puja.
 
"Puja are being celebrated at 254 Puja Mandaps across the capital with much enthusiasm. There are no security threats this year," he said.
 
The DMP Chief made the remarks while speaking to journalists after visiting Sri Sri Siddheswari Kali Mondir in the capital tonight.
 
He said a separate security plan has been chalked out for the immersion of Goddess Durga on October 2, adding that additional police personnel will be deployed to ensure smooth conduct of the procession.
 
The DMP commissioner expressed hope that this year's Durga Puja will be observed in a more joyful and colorful atmosphere than ever before.
 
Additional Police Commissioner (Crime and Operations) S. N. Md. Nazrul Islam, among others, was present.
