CHATTOGRAM, Oct 11, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Navy has recovered a large cache of firearms and ammunition during a drive in the Moulvipara area under Teknaf upazila of the district.

Acting on a tip-off, the Navy conducted the operation at the residence of notorious terrorist Abdul Khaleque in the area on Friday. During the operation, weapons hidden underground in a unique way in the yard of the house were recovered, according to an Inter-Services Public Relation Directorate (ISPR) release issued today.

The recovered items include one 7.62 mm foreign pistol, one round of pistol ammunition, one home-made shotgun, five rounds of shotgun cartridges, and nine other local weapons.

The recovered weapons and ammunition were handed over to Teknaf Police Station for further legal action.

The Bangladesh Navy is working tirelessly to curb illegal weapons, drugs, and criminal activities in its area of responsibility. Such operations will continue in the future, the ISPR added.
