CHATTOGRAM, Oct 11, 2025 (BSS) - The Chattogram University (CU) authorities have taken strict measures to regulate the entry of outsiders into the campus ahead of the Chattogram University Central Students' Union (CUCSU), Hall and Hostel Parliament elections 2025.
The Information and Photography Unit of the university today issued an urgent notice in this regard.
The notice, signed by CU Proctor Professor Dr Hossain Shahid Sarwardy, stated that the university administration has tightened access control to maintain order on the campus ahead of the CUCSU polls.
Teachers, students, officials, and employees have been instructed to carry their identity cards at all times.
The notice further mentioned that the university administration and law enforcement agencies have the authority to conduct searches if they suspect anything unusual.
After a 36-year hiatus, the CUCSU and Hall Union elections will be held on October 15.
According to the Election Commission, a total of 415 candidates are contesting for 26 posts in the CUCSU election, while 493 candidates are vying for 14 posts in the Hall Union and 10 posts in the Hostel Union.
The total number of eligible voters stands at 27,516. Voting will take place from 9 am to 4 pm on October 15, followed by the counting of ballots in the Returning Officer's room.
