7 AL men held in city for participating, financing flash processions

DHAKA, Oct 12, 2025 (BSS) – Detective Branch (DB) of police has arrested seven leaders and activists of Awami League and its affiliated organization from different parts of the capital for their alleged involvement in financing and taking part in sudden processions in the last 24 hours. 

The arrested are: president of South Surma Upazila Swechchhasebak League in Sylhet City Nizam Uddin (37), organizing secretary of Sylhet District Chhatra League, Fahim Ahmed Shah (36),  vice president of Dhaka north district Chhatra League , Mobarak Hossain Palak (32), member of the central committee of Bangladesh Inter-District Truck Drivers Union,  Md. Faruk Hossain Akon (50), former joint secretary of Lalbagh Thana Chhatra League, Wahedul Islam Khan Sajib (52), active worker of AL and organizer of sudden procession Md. Miraj Hossain (26) and agricultural affairs secretary of Awami Swechchhasebak League, Md. Ershad Ali (45).

They were apprehended in separate raids at Nikunja , Shilpakala Academy  North Nandipara, Kamrangirchar and Badda areas in the last 24 hours, said a police press release.
