ACC files case against Dinajpur zila parisad’s ex-chairman

DHAKA, Oct 14, 2025 (BSS) - The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) today said it filed a case against former chairman of Dinajpur Zila Parisad Delwar Hossain on charges of acquiring assets beyond known sources of his income.

ACC spokesman Md Tanzir Ahmed said the graft body’s deputy assistant director Md Alam Miah filed the case against Hossain under Section 27(1) of the Anti-Corruption Commission Act, 2004 today.

“Delwar Hossain is found to have acquired and possessed assets worth of Tk.7.64 crore, an amount inconsistent with his known source of income,” Ahmed told reporters.

He said evidence was found about his immoveable wealth Tk.14.18 crore in Dhaka, Dinajpur and other areas while his moveable assets was estimated to be worth over Tk.6.28 crore totaling the assets in terms of money to be Tk.13.81 crore

“But his known sources of income amounted to Tk.8.79 crore,” Ahmed said.

According to the ACC allegation the former zila parishad chairman amassed wealth worth of over Tk.7 crore from October 12, 2002 to till 2025.

The ACC office in Dinajpur has been entrusted with the charge of investigating the case.
