MYMENSINGH, Oct 14, 2025 (BSS) - National Citizen Party (NCP) Chief Organizer for the northern region, Sarjis Alam today said the NCP has emerged as an indispensable political force and will play a decisive role in the upcoming national elections to help form a stable and balanced parliament.

"In the upcoming national election, the NCP will act as a deciding force and make a vital contribution to ensuring a stable and balanced parliament," Sarjis told a district-level organizational coordination meeting at Tarek Memorial Auditorium in the Town Hall area this evening.

Sarjis said "Those who stand in the real political field will lead the struggle to uproot the fascism of Awami League. To ensure continuity of reforms and justice, the NCP will work tirelessly even after the election," Sarjis added.

Emphasizing youth empowerment as the most urgent demand for the country's future, he added, "The shape of tomorrow's Bangladesh will be defined through youth leadership arising from mass movements for education, healthcare and anti-corruption."

Expressing optimism about the party's organizational expansion, he said, "Very soon, the NCP will extend its organizational network to every ward across the country. After the implementation of the July Charter and the visible establishment of justice, the NCP will emerge as one of the leading political parties in the democratic elections."

On the issue of the party symbol, Sarjis said, "There is no legal reason to deny us the 'Shapla' symbol. If anyone is deprived of it unjustly, we will not accept it."

"NCP will contest the elections with the 'Shapla' symbol and has the organizational capacity to field candidates in every constituency," he added.

Commenting on electoral strategy, Sarjis said, "The NCP does not believe in negotiating for a few seats. However, if any political party comes forward with a specific commitment for change reflecting public aspirations and a consensus in the national interest, an electoral alliance may be considered."

He added, "In any case, NCP will contest the polls under its own name and symbol."

Emphasizing the need to dismantle Awami League's financial network, Sarjis said, "One of the key reasons behind the survival of fascist structures in Bangladesh is their economic supply chain."

"Unless action is taken against the institutions and individuals financing them, real change will not be possible. Fascism cannot be eradicated without cutting off the money flow," he said.

Sarjis further said that the sources of income of such entities must be seized or regulated to ensure accountability, otherwise, "the oppressive structure will remain intact."

Chaired by NCP Mymensingh District Chief Coordinator Advocate Javed Rasin, it was also addressed by Divisional Organizational Secretary Ashikin Alam, Central Organizer (North) Pritom Sohag and Central Member Fahim Rahman Khan Pathan...rewrite the news
