KHULNA, Oct 15, 2025 (BSS) - General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 55th Infantry Division and Area Commander of Jashore Area Major General JM Emdadul Islam today called upon the freshers to always be ready to protect the country's independence and sovereignty. 
 
"Perform your duties accordingly in any need of the country," he said. 

He made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at the 'Army Chief's Parade' of the Bangladesh Army's Army Service Corps Center and School Recruit Batch-2025 at the Shaheed Lt. Col. Anwar Parade Ground at Jahanabad Cantonment in Khulna on this morning. He inspected the parade and took the salute.
 
The country's largest number of 606 recruits took the oath in the parade. Md. Sakibul Islam was adjudged best recruit in all subjects while Md. Solaiman Mridha was made the second best and Md. Shamim Hossain was the third best.
 
The chief guest congratulated the awardees.
