DHAKA, Oct 15, 2025 (BSS) - A chemical expert team of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) led by Professor Dr Md Easir Arafat Khan , Department of Chemical Engineering , today visited the fire site at Mirpur. 
 
During the visit they collected samples from the spot, media officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) Talha Bin Zasim told BSS today. 
 
The team will submit a report to the fire service, he said.
 
At least 16 people have so far been killed in the fire that erupted in a RMG factory and a chemical warehouse in Sialbari, Rupnagar in Mirpur on Tuesday afternoon.
 
The bodies were sent to the morgue of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
