Jamaat Ameer visits Mirpur fire site

DHAKA, Oct 15, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman on Tuesday night visited the RMG factory and chemical warehouse in Sialbari, Mirpur, which were damaged in a fire that has so far claimed 16 lives.

Dr. Shafiqur inspected the affected sites and inquired about the condition of the deceased and injured. He announced a grant of Tk one lakh for each family of the deceased.

The Jamaat Ameer expressed his profound sympathy to the bereaved and injured family members, saying, "It is our human duty to stand by the families affected by this accident."

Jamaat Ameer was accompanied by Dhaka City North Jamaat Naib-e-Ameer Abdur Rahman Musa, Jamaat-nominated MP candidate from Dhaka-14 constituency Barrister Mir Ahmad Bin Kashem (Arman) and Jamaat-nominated MP candidate from Dhaka-16 constituency Colonel (Retd) Abdul Baten.
 
Earlier, in a statement, the Jamaat Ameer prayed for the forgiveness of the souls of the deceased and expressed his deep condolences to the injured. 

He has called for an impartial investigation to uncover the real cause of the fire and take appropriate action against those responsible and to take necessary measures to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future.
