CHATTOGRAM, Oct 15, 2025 (BSS) - Over 60 percent of the total votes have been cast in the Chittagong University Central Students' Union (CUCSU) elections, said Chief Election Commissioner Prof. Dr. Monir Uddin.

The results will formally be announced at the Business Administration Faculty Auditorium after vote counting, Prof. Monir told BSS this evening.

Vote counting is currently underway at six centers within the university. Students began casting their votes at 9:00am and it concluded at 4:30pm today.

The voting concluded amidst a day filled with complaints and counter-complaints. But the Election Commission said the election was fair and transparent.

Earlier at noon, Professor Saidur Rahman, a member of the election management committee and head of the ICT cell, said it may take until tomorrow morning (Thursday) to finish counting the votes and announce the results.
