Chief Justice meets Thai Justice Minister in Bangkok to strengthen judicial cooperation

DHAKA, Oct 15, 2025 (BSS) –Chief Justice (CJ) of Bangladesh Dr. Syed Refaat Ahmed and Thailand’s Minister of Justice Rutthaphon Naowarat held a bilateral meeting in Bangkok today aiming to boost judicial cooperation.

During the meeting, the Chief Justice briefed the Thai Minister of Justice on the ongoing activities undertaken as part of the roadmap for judicial reform announced earlier.

He elaborated on the measures aimed at enhancing the efficiency and capacity of the judiciary, including the integration of information and communication technology to ensure timely and transparent delivery of justice.

The Thai Justice Minister expressed keen interest in Bangladesh’s judicial reform initiatives and shared Thailand’s experiences in judicial administration and modernization.

Special emphasis was placed on the exchange of knowledge and expertise in areas such as judicial training, legal research and institutional development.

The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to strengthen future cooperation between the two countries.

This meeting marks the beginning of a new chapter in judicial relations between Bangladesh and Thailand and it was seen as a significant step towards mutual development and the strengthening of the rule of law.

Chief Justice is scheduled to return home on October 18.

The information was shared in a press release issued today by Supreme Court's Public Relations Officer Md Shafiqul Islam.
