5 platoons of BGB deployed around RU over RUCSU polls

DHAKA, Oct 16, 2025 (BSS) - Five platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed at Rajshahi University and its surrounding areas for ensuring peaceful holding of RUCSU elections. 
     
The paramilitary force confirmed the deployment of BGB personnel in a press release issued this morning. 

Voting for the Rajshahi University Central Students' Union (RUCSU), 17 Hall Councils, and five Student Representatives to the Senate began on the campus in a festive atmosphere.

The polling began at 9 am across 990 booths under 17 centres in nine academic buildings and will continue until 4 pm.
