ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY, Kushtia, Oct 16, 2025 (BSS) - The Kushtia Deputy Commissioner (DC) assured that the damaged sections of the Khulna-Kushtia highway will be repaired within a week, with full renovation work scheduled to begin after October 22.

The assurance came following a peaceful demonstration today by students of Islamic University (IU), who highlighted the need for urgent repair of the severely damaged road. 

The students temporarily blocked the highway near the university's main gate, drawing attention to the issue.

Former leaders of the Students Against Discrimination movement also joined the protest. 

After receiving the assurance, the students withdrew the blockade peacefully, expressing confidence that the authorities would take swift action to restore the highway.
