DHAKA, Oct 16, 2025 (BSS) - Agriculture Ministry and FAO today observed the World Food Day-2025 in a befitting manner.
Marking the day, a discussion was held at Bangladesh Agriculture Research Council auditorium here, said a press release.
Food Secretary Md Masudul Hasan addressed the discussion as the chief guest while Fisheries and Livestock Secretary Abu Taher Muhammad Jaber, FAO Bangladesh Representative Dia Sanou and IFAD Bangladesh Representative Dr Valantine Achancho, among others, addressed it as special guests.
Bangladesh Agriculture University’s Agriculture Economic Department Head Dr Khandakar Md Iftekharuddoullah presented the keynote paper.
In his speech, Masudul Hasan emphasized the importance of agricultural research to ensure the country's food security.
He called on researchers, teachers and students of the agricultural university to work in such a way so that the benefits of agricultural research reach the farmers.
