DHAKA, Oct 16, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi today said if any obstacles are created on the path of Bangladesh's transition to democracy following the July uprising, the fallen fascist groups will be benefitted.

"If obstacles are created on the path of country’s transition to democracy, then some fascist group will be benefitted," he said.

The BNP leader made the remarks while visiting Kamrangirchar area in the capital to provide assistance on behalf of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman for the medical treatment of a sick child named Hunaifa.

He expressed the hope that every political party would attend the July Charter signing ceremony, slated for tomorrow (Friday). In this context, he said the parties have reached a final stage regarding the July Charter.

However, he said many unresolved issues and Notes of Dissent are being discussed to this end.

“An unnecessary controversy is being created over the referendum. Why is this opposition being created? We don't know. Every political party is trying to reach a consensus on the July Charter to ensure the stability of future democracy, the rule of law, good governance, public opinion, freedom of the press, and freedom of expression," he said.

Rizvi also commented that the public is not appreciating the delay over the referendum and other minor issues.

"We are going through a complex situation. After the fascists departed, our commitment was to build a humane Bangladesh so that no helpless person suffers due to a lack of medical treatment," he added.

Amra BNP Poribar Convener Atikur Rahman Rumon, Treasurer of BNP  Rashed-uz-Zaman Millat, JCD Vice-President Ashraf Uddin Bokul and Touhidur Rahman Awal, among others, were present on the occasion.
