DHAKA, Oct 16, 2025 (BSS) - The Detective Branch (DB) of Police arrested five 
members of an inter-district robbery gang along with DB jackets, walkie-
talkies and private cars.

The arrested are: Abdul Jabbar, 43, Md Mamun Hossain, 40, Md Sohag, 42, Md 
Abu Bakkar Siddique, 25, and Md Ruhul Amin, 39.

Based on secret information, a DB team of Wari Division conducted a drive at 
Rajuk Uttara Model College area at about 9:05pm yesterday, said a release of 
the Dhaka Metropolitan Police DMP (media and public relations division) 
issued here today.

During the drive, the police team arrested five members of an inter-district 
robbery gang and recovered three DB police jackets, a walkie-talkie, a 
handcuff, three nameplates and a private car from their possession, it said.

According to the release, some 14/15 members of an inter-district robbery 
gang were preparing to commit a robbery in the city's Uttara area.
 
Through their preliminary interrogation, the arrested robbers said that they 
have been committing robberies in different districts of the country 
including Dhaka city for a long time.
 
Legal action is underway against the arrested persons, the release added.
