Sacrifice of martyr Abu Sayeed is memorable for whole world: Iranian envoy

RANGPUR, Oct 16, 2025 (BSS) - Ambassador at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Dhaka, Mr Mansour Chavoshi has said that the heroic supreme sacrifice of martyr Abu Sayeed, a pioneer of the July Revolution, is memorable for the whole world. 
 
"I am very happy to come to the campus of martyr Abu Sayeed's Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR)," he said during a courtesy call and exchange of views with BRUR Vice-chancellor Professor Dr Md Showkat Ali.
 
The courtesy call, organized at the Syndicate Room of the BRUR Administrative Building on Thursday, discussed mutual cooperation in the fields of higher education and research between the two countries. 
 
Mrs Zahara Chavoshi, wife of Iranian Ambassador Mansour Chavoshi, and embassy officials were present during the exchange of views. 
 
The Vice-chancellor welcomed the delegation led by the Iranian Ambassador to the university campus of martyr Abu Sayeed in northern Bangladesh. 
 
He briefed the guests about the academic and administrative activities of the university. 
 
The Vice-chancellor said that in addition to conducting academic activities in an advanced, fair and beautiful environment, the university is conducting joint activities for education and research exchange with various universities in the country and abroad. 
 
He expressed interest in increasing cooperation in education and research at the university level of the two countries, undertaking joint research projects and conducting publication activities, organizing academic workshops, seminars and conducting educational exchange activities. 
 
At that time, the Iranian ambassador said that there are several good universities in Iran. 
 
"Begum Rokeya University will be able to sign a memorandum of understanding with these Iranian universities to increase mutual cooperation in education and research," he said. 
 
When the Vice-chancellor expressed interest in academic ties with Iranian higher education institutions, the Iranian ambassador emphasized further cooperation in the relevant fields.  

At the end of the exchange of views, the Vice-chancellor presented a souvenir to the Iranian delegation.
