DHAKA, Oct 16, 2025 (BSS) - Director General of Bangladesh Ansar and VDP Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud today said the members of Ansar and VDP have been working to build a prospective Bangladesh through ensuring discipline and eradicating inconsistencies of the society.
The Director General made the remarks while visiting the ongoing administrative, operational, and training activities of the force in Chattogram district’s Raozan and Rangunia upazilas.
The visit was a part of his inspection of the 10-day “Village-based VDP Basic Training 2025–26 (2nd Phase)” programme.
While exchanging views with the trainees, Major General Sazzad Mahmud emphasized the importance of discipline and social movements in eliminating social irregularities.
He called upon the young VDP members to become the vanguards of positive social change, said a press release here.
“The foundation of Ansar-VDP’s training is discipline. A disciplined society is the key to identifying and nurturing the fields of prosperity and potential,” he said.
He added, “Through training and motivation, our young VDP members can build a promising, disciplined, and ideal society and the force is advancing towards that goal.”
He also said that instilling a sense of discipline among people is crucial for establishing a prosperous and secure social system. “This training inspires participants to become agents of positive change in their communities,” he added.
Highlighting the concept of the “social contract” as a key driver of social reconstruction, the DG said that the Ansar-VDP members must spread the idea of social contract.
“This understanding will enable them to address social irregularities collectively and constructively. Grassroots members of Ansar-VDP will play a vital role in this process,” he said.
The DG also said that through small but meaningful initiatives, a productive and promising society can be established, where VDP members will play an active and dynamic role.
The Director General also expressed his optimism that the trainees, inspired by a renewed sense of discipline and moral values, will contribute effectively to building a better and more resilient Bangladesh.
