Weekends, holidays for EC officials, employees cancelled for polls preparation

DHAKA, Oct 16, 2025 (BSS) –The Election Commission (EC) has   instructed its officials and employees to remain present at the office and carry out their duties even on weekends and government holidays to ensure smooth implementation of all preparatory activities ahead of the upcoming 13th national parliament election.

If necessary, officials and employees have also been instructed to work beyond normal office hours, the EC said in an office order issued today.

The order was signed by Md Nazmul Kabir, Senior Assistant Secretary at the EC Secretariat.

To ensure the proper completion of all preparatory activities ahead of the upcoming 13th Jatiya Sangsad election, all concerned officials and employees are hereby instructed to attend office on weekends and public holidays and remain present beyond official working hours from now on, the order read.
