Fakhrul urges political parties to remain united for fair election environment

THAKURGAON, Oct 16, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today urged all political parties to remain united to ensure a fair election environment.

He said, "Some parties are crying out for a Proportional Representation (PR) system. But no one truly understands PR. So, let us abandon this PR drama and focus on creating an environment for a fair election." 

Fakhrul made the remarks while inaugurating the final match of the 'Mirza Ruhul Amin Memorial Football Tournament' at Haripur Stadium in the district.

Describing the Awami League's rule as a period of darkness, the BNP Secretary General asserted, "We have emerged from deep darkness into light. We have been freed through an uprising after nearly 15 years of fascist rule."

"The interim government has announced an election for next February. We expect the people of the country - Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, and Christians - to be united and ensure BNP's victory by voting for the 'Sheaf of Paddy' (Dhaner Shish). We aim to strengthen and consolidate democracy," he added.
