RANGPUR, Oct 17, 2025 (BSS) – Jamaat-e-Islami central executive council member ATM Azharul Islam has said fascist Hasina and her leaders fled the country in the face of mass uprising because of their unlimited oppression and looting of property.
“However, our no leader fled the country because Jamaat-e-Islami had done nothing wrong,” said Azharul, also former acting secretary general of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami.
He said this while speaking as the chief guest at a street rally, organized by Damodarpur Union Jamaat-e-Islami in Badarganj upazila of Rangpur this evening.
Alleging that 11 senior party leaders were murdered in the name of justice, Azharul Islam said, for the last 16 years, Jamaat-e-Islami leaders have remained in the country ignoring the fear for their lives out of love for the country.
“I was unjustly kept in jail for 14 years in a false case. By the infinite mercy of Allah Almighty, I am alive. I am speaking before you (people),” he said.
He said that the Awami League's knee-jerk regime has never been able to get the fair share of Teesta river water. As a result, there is only lamentation on the banks of the Teesta, which is devoid of water, he added.
Their knee-jerk foreign policy has caused serious damage to the country's interests and economy by providing corridors at nominal prices in the name of transit.
“The Indian Border Security Force is shooting and killing Bangladeshis like birds at the border. All conscious citizens of the country must always remain united against these fascists. For this, honest people must come forward,” he said.
