Gono Forum signs 'July National Charter, 2025'

DHAKA, Oct 19, 2025 (BSS) - Gono Forum today signed the July National Charter, 2025 at the LD Hall of Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban here. 

Acting President Freedom Fighter Subrata Chowdhury and General Secretary Dr Md Mizanur Rahman put pen on the charter of behalf of their party. 

Gono Forum's Presidium Council Member Senior Advocate AKM Jaglul Haidar, Convener of Women's Gono Forum Advocate Sagorika Islam and Organizing Secretary Mirza Hasan also joined the ceremony. 

Besides, National Consensus Commission Vice Chairman Professor Ali Riaz, members Safar Raj Hossain, Dr Iftekharuzzaman, and Dr Badiul Alam Majumdar, and Chief Adviser's Special Assistant Monir Haidar were also present. 

Speaking on the occasion, Professor Ali Riaz said that Gono Forum has always been involved in the long struggle for democratic movements and the construction of democratic culture in Bangladesh.

Being closely associated with the process of reforming the state structure of the country, he conveyed heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to the party on behalf of the Commission. 

On October 17, the widely anticipated July National Charter 2025 was signed in a festive event at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban by Chief Adviser and Chairman of the National Consensus Commission Professor Muhammad Yunus along with members of the Commission and representatives of various political parties. 

Although Gonoforum representatives were present at the event that day, they did not sign the charter. With today's signing by Gonoforum, a total of 26 political parties have now endorsed the charter.
