Court rejects bail petition of ex-MP Mukti

NARAIL, Oct 19, 2025 (BSS) – A court here today rejected the bail plea of former Narail-1 lawmaker Kabirul Haque Mukti and ordered him to be sent to jail in connection with a subversive acts case.

Mukti was produced before Judicial Magistrate Ratna Saha in a case filed at Kalia Thana on September 12 last year and filed a bail petition. The magistrate, after hearing the arguments, rejected the petition and ordered him to be sent to jail.

The former lawmaker was arrested from Dhaka’s Niketon area on September 24 and brought to Narail from Dhaka Central Jail on October 14. He was produced before the same court on October 15 in connection with two other cases, but the court again rejected his bail petitions and ordered to send him to jail.

On the same day, Mukti was also produced before Judicial Magistrate Maruf Hassan in connection with two cases from Naragati Thana. The court rejected his bail petitions and ordered him to be sent to jail.
