Prime accused remanded in BUP student rape case

DHAKA, Oct 20, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today placed one Sohel Rozario, 
prime accused in the case lodged over the rape of a student of Bangladesh 
University of Professionals (BUP), on a three-day remand. 

Dhaka Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate AKM Mohiuddin passed the order as 
police produced Sohel before the court and pleaded to place him on a seven-
day remand.

The court on October 19 had placed another accused Mithu Biswas on a two-day 
remand in the case. 

Sohel, with the help of two others, raped the girl in Savar on October 14. 
The girl on October 16 filed the case with Savar Model Police Station 
accusing three persons. 

After that, police arrested Sohel Rozario, and his accomplices Biplob Rozario 
and Mithu Biswas.
