DHAKA, Oct 20, 2025 (BSS) – BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie today expressed solidarity with demonstrating Monthly Pay Order (MPO)-listed teachers and pledged that the party would bring them under nationalization if elected to power.

Speaking at a gathering at the Central Shaheed Minar, Annie said BNP’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman has already given his support to the teachers' demands, which include fair employment benefits and state security.

“BNP is committed to ensuring the dignity and welfare of teachers. We fully realise your contribution and hardships. If BNP forms the next government through the people’s mandate, we will move forward with the nationalisation of teachers,” he said.

“Five percent house rent allowance is not enough,” Annie said, urging the authorities to address the demands seriously.

BNP Training Affairs Secretary A.B.M. Mosharraf Hossain was also present at the event.

Teachers from across the country have gathered in Dhaka, demanding 20 percent house rent, Tk 1,500 in medical allowance, and a 75 percent festival bonus.
